Title: 2012 in Review: What was your best 2012 deal?
Post by: tkaz on December 19, 2012, 12:35:33 pm
Following up on Moondawg's suggestion...What was your best deal (buying or selling) in 2012?

Mine took 352 days...but the Vendo Coin Changer I picked up yesterday for $50 was definitely my best of the year, maybe ever!

I am a big petroliana fan so mine is this gas pump, almost done with an easy restoration, the best part is it came with both original porcelain Sunoco plates alone worth $600-700 each.  Bought everything for $275

A Funtronics T-Shirt.  It was also free and delivered to my house.

Other than that I didn't get anything this year except a 1936 Mills juke box, but it wasn't a great deal.

2012 has been very good to me as well, no only a ton of restoration orders and machines out the door, which helps with some buying..
I did get a Vendo 81b for 150.00 needs total restoration but was 95% complete.
Scored some Great Ol Smoothie advertising for my collection for free from a relative.
and just some good , not great deals on some inventory machines for future orders..
Can't wait to see what 2013 brings!

Happy New Year and Merry Christmas to all.. (yes I say Merry Christmas to everyone cause that is what I celebrate).. sorry no Politically correct from me. :happydrinkers:

I found an Ideal Slider rack along with a few rusted old signs in a building that was getting renovated in Boston.  Rescued them right before they were going in the dumpster.

I bought a V-80 for $175 and a 6 pack of beer.  I sold it for $550 a few months later when I came to the realization that I have too may projects.

Took the money from the V-80 and bought a rust free 1972 Porsche 914 for $600 (yeah, I still have way too many projects  ).  I am in the process of finishing the bodywork before getting it painted.

Congrats Jarod!  We had an addition to the family as well.  My son was also the best find of the year!!!!
