Title: What size nuts for a clock? Post by: pinballdude on November 28, 2012, 04:00:39 pm I posted this sometime ago. I tried Wayne's Neon Clocks but was told their nuts fit more modern clocks.
What size nut is needed to fasten the hands on vintage Coke clocks? Is it a certain inner diameter with a certain thread? I would like to be able to go to the hardware store and request what I need without having to take the clock with me and having to try many nuts to find the right one. I have 2 clocks that I need these for. Thank you. Terry Title: Re: What size nuts for a clock? sorry Title: Re: What size nuts for a clock? Post by: cola62 on November 29, 2012, 08:12:38 am That is a tough one. There are several different thread sizes that were used depending on the clock motor shaft. I had the same issue a while back. I contacted several of the companies that sell the replacment motors but none of them would sell just a nut. I ended up going to an Ace Harware and buying a regular hex nut that fit and grinding off the corners to round it out. The original nuts are usually brass and round with no corners.
