Title: WTB VMC 81 pepsi Post by: Jonathan816 on November 26, 2012, 09:35:13 am I thought there was a Vendo or VMC 56 round top pepsi out there as I've seen some pictures... however I've been told it's probably been custom made.
I'd like to buy a VMC 81 pepsi machine... let me know if you have one, and your price along with pictures. If everyone else can give me a guestimate as to what I'll be looking to spend I'll greatly appreciate. Not looking for a restored machine, just one in good condition. located in Richmond, VA, however willing to travel 250 miles, and I'll be going up to Long Island for Christmas so can grab it if you are slightly off of 95 between VA and Long Island. Thanks all for your help. Best Regards Jonathan Title: Re: WTB VMC 81 pepsi Post by: MoonDawg on November 26, 2012, 09:56:22 am You are going to spend $3000 for a complete embossed Pepsi 81 since there is a long line of collectors ahead of you.
I think I know where your search started, you got a rusted transitional 56 and because it was painted blue you thought you should put those parts in a round top Pepsi machine. Best idea is to locate a stripped Coke 56 R/T, weld the rust, paint and install your parts. Then sell it and use that money and buy the Pepsi machine of your choice. Basically how my search went, but I don't necessarily need the parts I have to go in the machine I find as I can just sell em and get a complete machine to make up some of the cost difference. It's a 4.25 in rarity, to just go out and find one is hard let alone having 4k laying around! Maybe I'm better off spending it on my 72 vette, at least that I'll have fun with not just something that looks sweet.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and not beating up the newbie. A restored VMC 81 on e-bay is going to run about $7,000, unrestored $3,000-$4,000, there is no 56 and 110 who knows, little less then the 81. If you are not going to use it just get a VMC 33, it's one of my favorite machines because the embossing on it is priceless because it is the perfect size for that small machine plus that will set you back only $1,500 unrestored. You can always get single or double dot slider for under $1,000 also.
