Title: Jukebox ID and value questions Post by: MaineT on November 21, 2012, 06:48:51 pm Ok, so I go look at a machine and the guy hits me with "I have 4 jukeboxes in the shed if you wanted to take a look"... 2 Wurlitzer and 2 Seeburg. One is the trashcan model and the other is the Happy days model..... Well, that is an no brainer...
So, they are in a shed but its more of an unheated garage. They shut down a restaurant this past summer and here they sit and they haven't been there for years like I thought it was going to be. . he needs to get them out of here before winter, which is right around the corner. They are supposedly all playable with all of the coin-op but on freeplay right now and they took the needles out of 3. Ok, Anyone have any realistic prices to throw out? He said he would do a package deal and leave some room for profit if I wanted to keep 1 or 2 for myself and resell the others, but I'm so far over my head I'm not sure what to do.... anyone? and feel free to PM me if need be! And yes, we had to climb over a bunch of other stuff to get to them!!! we even joked about american pickers... Title: Re: Jukebox ID and value questions Post by: Kilroy on November 21, 2012, 07:13:28 pm Seeburg 148 (trashcan) 1948 - metal body, plays 78's
Seeburg C 1951/52 classic looks good plays good awesome next to a Vendo 39 or 56. It's called the Happy Days machine since it appearred in the opening credits. The juke in Arnold's was actually a Seeburg G Wurlitzer 2300/2310 Stereo - design flaw with the lid hinge, often cracked 4th machine is a A seeburg J, at least the mech cover is :) Price is dependent condition, and what's missing Title: Re: Jukebox ID and value questions Post by: TomFromJersey on November 21, 2012, 10:35:59 pm Tim
I can't make out the 4th machine. Realistically, each one should be priced to move at $600 to $800 each. If you pick up the whole lot I think that $1600 to $1800 would be fair, but keep in mind that cosmetics and completeness comes into play. Could be a nice haul, they could be a lot of work! As the seller has stated that they are all playable and set to free play. You are best to have a jam session and make sure they all work ... if not prepare to offer him a much lower price. Cool Find thanks for sharing Tom, I may need your expertise in a few days I came across 3 or 4 today ( Jukes) along with a large PopMatic machine missing the top portion. No pictures that would be helpful yet. Jared Title: Re: Jukebox ID and value questions Post by: TomFromJersey on November 22, 2012, 08:14:01 am Tim

Title: Re: Jukebox ID and value questions Post by: Kilroy on November 22, 2012, 08:47:27 pm The last one is a Seeburg L. and $600 for an older restored Seeburg C? I spend moe than that getting the chrome platedand the aluminum anodized :Oo: Title: Re: Jukebox ID and value questions Post by: MCarter on November 22, 2012, 09:44:04 pm Got any pictures of the POPMATIC?

$600-$700 would be a fair price for an unrestored Seeburg C if you were buying several boxes in a lot and looking to flip them to make a little cash. I think I could sell it relatively quick for $800-$900 even if it had a busted glass tube or 2 or maybe a cracked pillaster. Given the information at hand, restored a long time ago, needles taken out, free play without coin, stored in a bldg where they had to be climbed over, and the fact that you can't tell what the front, sides, or insides of any of the boxes look like by the pictures, I think it's some pretty solid #'s. If a person is serious about selling a quality restored box, at a restored box price, then he will have them cleaned, lubed, presentable, and working 100%. And most likely, stored properly. He also won't be climbing over top of them to get to other machines. Tom Title: Re: Jukebox ID and value questions Post by: Slapshot42 on November 22, 2012, 10:28:02 pm None.....
Its about 6 ft tall...metal, no top. Google memory only: Looks like a 24 A with no top Title: Re: Jukebox ID and value questions Post by: MaineT on November 22, 2012, 10:46:20 pm These are the pictures that he sent me of them in the restaurant when they removed them this past summer. They look pretty presentable but will need to be tested for function.
I think the one that has been identified as the Seeburg L has 1 broken selection number, and the placard that says what the cost is was pushed in, but he has it and its just plastic. Title: Re: Jukebox ID and value questions Post by: TomFromJersey on November 23, 2012, 08:15:21 am Tim
It's a Seeburg "J", looks like a model R but with a different grill and mech cover. The boxes look much nicer than the origonal pics you posted. Someone certainly spent some time and money on these. Your going to have to see what the seller is looking to get out of them and take it from there. Tom Title: Re: Jukebox ID and value questions Post by: MaineT on November 23, 2012, 09:18:47 am Yes, he emailed me the pictures he had so I could identify them. He put them in the shed first, then a bunch of restaurant equipment but I wasn't going to let some mixers and convection ovens stop me from seeing them that night!
