Title: Cavalier model c6-174g Post by: Jim on September 21, 2004, 06:44:38 pm I don't have any info other than this model was manufactured in the late 60's into the early 70's...
What specific information are you seeking...? Title: Cavalier model c6-174g Post by: on September 22, 2004, 04:12:52 pm Thank you for responding. Didn't think I was going to get any response. I was more interested in the year it was made and the color scheme. It was painted over and I seem to think it was white on the side with red lettering. I just received my manual today in the mail so I am ready to start tinkering with it. I know I need some work done on the refridgeration. Thanks again!
Title: Cavalier model c6-174g Post by: johnieG on September 22, 2004, 06:05:36 pm It might also help if you post a picture, as someone who has a simular machine might recognize it & help you place a year of manufacture on it...& sometimes the serial no. can be used to date a machine....I've seen a C5-174, it's a mid 60's machine with three chutes, red main body & a white "things go better with Coke" motto on the side, the lightup sign is a "drink Coca-Cola enjoy that refreshing new feeling" in red & green lettering, & it could vend either bottles or cans. a very big & heavy machine, +600lbs

Title: Cavalier model c6-174g Post by: johnieG on September 22, 2004, 07:13:34 pm Ah! much better! It's a late 60's machine,(66-69') with a "style star" lightup sign, it would have had white sides , a woodgrain front door with a red bottom panel. it vended bottles up to 16oz. & had a can vending adapters available.
Title: Cavalier model c6-174g Post by: on September 27, 2004, 06:31:39 pm I have started the restoration process. I have taken it apart and started some heavy sanding. Overall it seems to be in good shape. Just surface rust which I am sanding off. The bottom has a little bit heavier rust, but it has not started rotting out. So I Saved it in time. I am going to post some pics as I go along, any tips would be appreciated. I am new to this, but I do have mechanical experience which helps. I am going to need work done on the refridgeration part, as it has a tube rusted out on the bottom. A pic of the side sanded down. Not the final sanding.

Title: Cavalier model c6-174g Post by: on September 27, 2004, 06:35:48 pm Front shot gutted out. I need to replace the bottom insulation, but I'm thinking about leaving the other, as it is in very good shape. Any advice?
Title: Cavalier model c6-174g Post by: on September 27, 2004, 06:39:09 pm Refridgeration problem. Rusted out on corner. What should I do? The upper part is in good condition. Besides buying a replacement, what are my alternatives. I know I need to call an expert, but what should I know before calling?
