Post by: jbachman2 on August 27, 2012, 01:42:14 pm
It's way too far away for me but a machine this nice should go to a collector.

Its worthless if that vend motor doesnt work tho. Trust me.....mine is going into storage as we speak cause of that exact reason.

Most of those motors just need oiled and tapped with a hammer  but I agree if the motor doesn't work good luck finding one .

i just had to ditto the motor comment.  I wish someone would start making a motor that would fit, then mine would be worth 6 or 7,000 restored.

Man I love the Westinghouse Select-O-Matics.  I have a 102 and want the other three.  A local guy has the 78 for sale for $550 in poor shape.   I sent him a bunch of links trying to politely convince him it isn't worth that...and tossed him an offer of $100-$150, but he hasn't replied...probably made him mad  but I had to try.

I have a good friend in Milwaukee, hmm...

Like everyone else has said, those vend motors make or break a machine. Really is amazing there hasn't been a replacement made in all these years, they would certainly have some buyers. I've actually rigged mine to vend by turning a knob (will post pictures when completed) to bypass my broken motor but still, such a pain

The motor he did was a totally different brand that everyone else has. Thats why the rest of us havent been able to rebuild ours. I wish I could rebuild mine.

I'm in the same boat...
I have a WC-60 with a seized motor!
I've been trying to fee things up to no avail...
I may just cut the gear case open and go from there...

If anyone ever finds a replacement I bet they could sell 10 or 20 in no time flat. Id be first in line. I love my 102 but now its just sitting in storage.

Seriously, forget about my college classes and future job, I'm going to create a replacement motor and make millions lol.

Obviously a machine is less desirable without the vend motor but like I said, I'll post pics/directions how to make it functional without one. Until I find a motor somewhere or a parts machine, its the best I can do. I bought it, might as well use it
