Title: New t-stat wasn't the answer Post by: Bob K on September 07, 2004, 07:24:26 am My Vendo V-81 was getting way too cold. Adjusting the thermostat didn't seem to make any difference.
I installed a new t-stat (from Fun-Tronics), but even with the knob at "1" it still runs low '30's. It is an air-sensing style of t-stat and I have positioned the tip away from the air flow. I've got it in the middle of the airspace under the bottle rack to the left of the evaporator. Any advice? Slushy Coke tastes good, but... Thanks, Bob Title: New t-stat wasn't the answer Post by: globalcompressors on September 15, 2004, 09:53:00 pm Bob, Try turning the 2 adjustment screws counter-clock wise 1/2 turn each. If that doesn't get it, it may be a "contact" style stat. Try moving the probe around
and see if that helps. Finally, I may be a bad< new stat. I've had a run where 3 or 4 out of 10 have been bad:( Eric Title: New t-stat wasn't the answer Post by: Bob K on September 16, 2004, 06:51:21 am Thanks for the reply, Eric.
I tried taking the end of the probe and attaching it directly on to a coil on the evaporator. No effect. Steve at Funtronics said the same thing - could be a bad thermostat. He sent me a replacement which arrived yesterday. I'll get it in this weekend and report back. Compressor didn't shut down until the machine was at 26.1 degrees. And that's on "1" - the warmest setting. Steve at Funtronics mentioned that if this one didn't work we may have to try different styles. What the heck is the problem? Eric, any advice?? Thanks, Bob |
