Title: Cavalier 72 / Sandblasted and Powder Coated
Post by: Slapshot42 on August 11, 2012, 11:09:13 am
Here are some pictures of the recent start to the restoration of my Cavalier 72.

I had a lot of work done right away.  I chose a gray hammertone for the cabinet, and shelves.  The main door, cabinet, and coin door were blasted, and nice grey primer was applied.  The  I had all the the pieces inside the coin door done in a silvertone, and door liner.  I think it will look nice.

Looking good, I used the hammertone on mine and it really looked good with the red.

Looks good, did you rattle can or powdercoat?

I just rattle canned mine. If I had it to do again I would have probably powder coated it. This was my first machine and Momma had me on a tight budget :glare:

Turned out great!  I may pick your brain later in the game when I get into the wiring and stack.

Every machine that I have restored I have used that gray hammertone powder coat for my tubs, shelves etc. It looks really dark in the pics but looks awesome once in the machine and really pops with the reds and blues. Good Choice it will hold up a long time!

Actually I got the idea when I saw one of your machines you restored awhile back.

It looks great!

Thanks for posting.
