Title: Electric motor
Post by: on September 06, 2004, 08:16:03 pm
I have a Westinghouse Select-O-Matic that has a "bad" electric motor.  I have taken the motor to a shop here in Houston and they said that the gears are bad/stripped.  Does anyone know of someone that works on old vending machine electric motors?  Any help would be great!

Hi & welcome!

Well, rewinding a motor's one thing, and stripped gears are another  :( , with that said, I'm thinking you'll have to find a parts machine to donate a replacement, or locate someone parting one out, while there are lots of electrical motor rebuilders out there, very few are going to take the time
(cost-wise..$$$) & be able to repair it, & still keep it under $100.00 and thats just a straight forward rewinding of the field coils ( I'm not trying to discourage you) on the bright side, any vending motor assembly from a WC 60MD-78MD-102MD, or 102-1 (single flavor version) select-a-matic's will fit. :)
