Title: What's a reasonable price for a WC-78? Post by: brasskey on July 12, 2012, 10:46:36 am Machine is complete. Seems to be in great condition for an unrestored machine. They're wanting too much but I was wondering what my top dollar should be.

Post by: tkaz on July 12, 2012, 11:35:07 am Looks to be complete, just triple check and make sure that the vend motor is working on it, that is a tough part to find. I would go up to $400 if everything is working and in tiptop shape. It can easily vend bottles and cans, so it's a versatile machine.

I placed the dial on the first flavor, held in/down the sold out flag for the first column, deposited a quarter but it was returned... Same results for a dime... Any direction on testing this machine for vending cycles as I walked away because I heard about the motors being a problem...? Title: Re: What's a reasonable price for a WC-78? Post by: tkaz on July 14, 2012, 09:28:17 pm The quickest way to test the vend motor is to take a flathead screwdriver and open the carrier switch that is down by the vend motor cam. That should cause the motor to spin one rotation no matter if there is inventory or a coin inserted.
Jim, did you have the door open when you tried to insert a coin? The door linkage shifts over if the door is open, so you may not have been on the first column. Still seems high. I'm going to look at it tomorrow. Title: Re: What's a reasonable price for a WC-78? Post by: bcharlton on July 17, 2012, 08:45:57 am Inside joke
I would pay around $500-600 Title: Re: What's a reasonable price for a WC-78? Post by: collecture on July 17, 2012, 11:53:49 am The Westy's seem to be common in the Phoenix area. I find them frequently in the $100-$200 range.
I bought a few WB-60's and a couple of 78's and never paid more than $100 for any of them - maybe I've been just lucky! |
