Title: Cavalier 27 parts
Post by: Kaleid20 on July 03, 2012, 04:25:06 pm
Guys, I have an opportunity to purchase a Cav 27 at a very reasonable price. The rarity of the machine is what has me intrigued. HOWEVER...it is missing the interior drum\barrel and the outside turn wheel. I don't want to make the purchase if it is going to be next to impossible to find these items. Does anyone have a spare or one they would be willing to part with? Sharon at Soda Jerks told me worst came to worst they may be able to reproduce the turn wheel.

Next to impossible just means get it really, really cheap!!! May take years to find the parts, but worst case you can part it out.

I have seen a few 27's never have been complete.  Rare isnt always good when it comes to parts.  I wouldn't offer much.  Educate the seller and explain that you cant offer much due to the rarity of the machine.

Just go for it!   Even if it doesn't vend or cool, it's still a cool looking cabinet.
I sold a complete 27 to a guy once, who only wanted to use it as a slot machine stand.

I'm worried about the barrel. I just think the odds are slim to none I ever find one. Hell, it's hard enough to find a V23 tub and there's a million of those machines. If I can get it cheaper, then I may pull the trigger. Just to say I'm one of a select few to own one.

Wanna throw out there what price reasonable is for an incomplete one???

She wants $750...I've heard that complete unrestored should go around $2k STARTING. My feeling is this is a $500 machine.

$500 is a lot to be tied up for a few years waiting  and looking for parts. But the question is, is it worth it to you?
I say the thrill is in the chase sometimes when I really mean %$!*#)* waste of a tank of gas :)

I would offer 300 tops it not complete they have parts, you need parts.

Its a fair deal for both.

You may check with SJW I believe they were working on some reproduction parts....
