Title: Re: Vendo JUNIOR 123 - need round drum inside tub??? Post by: Kilroy on July 03, 2012, 02:29:17 pm I'd love to take pics, but it's in peices waiting for me to get back to finishing it.
I did find this link, which gives you an idea of the inside. http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/1436-old-vending-machine There suggestions on proces were pre reality shows. They were too high even then =) Restoration tips?? There are great ideas in the threads, but I can not stress enough: Take pictures Take more pictures Put parts in sealable baggies labeled with info as to where they went, <door coin mech, etc> Take more pictures. - when you're ready to rebuild you will forget how something went together. Title: Re: Vendo JUNIOR 123 - need round drum inside tub??? Post by: AllachSS on July 03, 2012, 02:55:07 pm wow thanks. that helps a little. I still would love to find a picture of all 4 sides inside the tub. Was the rack 2 layers? where did you get an acrylic one? weren't the real ones steel? so its not a ROUND tub like other vendo machine spins?
Excellent advice on taking pics. I agree. Last time I restored an old Vespa and took 250 pics boy did those help in reassembly. Worth their weight in gold. Im trying to figure out what do do with my refrigeration unit. can I spray paint it, the slats? Title: Re: Vendo JUNIOR 123 - need round drum inside tub??? Post by: AllachSS on July 03, 2012, 02:57:17 pm I also got a hit to Ricks Restorations website from the tv show, they have a restored one for sale for like $5K+? I emailed them asking if they had this part or make them, no reply..cuz of that stupid show now and all the FAN emails I bet they will never reply to me.
Title: Re: Vendo JUNIOR 123 - need round drum inside tub??? Post by: Kilroy on July 03, 2012, 03:06:02 pm The Vwendo 23 had the round bottle holder - the junior was built by Westinghouse, Well the cabinet. Vendo added the spin top to them.
the acyrlic rack was made by the seller I bought my machine from. Someone was making the baskets in stainless a few years ago, I don't remember the price, I want to say a few hundred dollars. The basket was/is 2 levels, and was hung from the back side (width) by 2 brackets. Check out the restore threads, most members have cleaned up the compressors, and have them painted. I would think a hi temp paint would work fine. You got me kitting that I need to get out there and finish my junior. And most of here collect and restore other stuff. So let's see some pics of your Vespa. Title: Re: Vendo JUNIOR 123 - need round drum inside tub??? Post by: Kilroy on July 03, 2012, 03:09:04 pm I'd love to sell one for $5,000. but the new cooler repro's have killed the market. Why pay 5K when i can one the same size, that will hold more than 23 bottles ( and only the 8 oz size) for under 700?
If you are looking to make a big turnover after it's restored, I hate to say it prolly won't happen. If you want a cool looking machine that doesn't take up a lot of space, then by all means restore it. Title: Re: Vendo JUNIOR 123 - need round drum inside tub??? Post by: AllachSS on July 03, 2012, 03:12:51 pm Im just restoring it for me. profit isn't on my mind really, well I don't want to be upside down, but I am doing it cuz it looks easy to do, and its from 1939..pre WW II which is just cool.

Title: Re: Vendo JUNIOR 123 - need round drum inside tub??? Post by: AllachSS on July 03, 2012, 05:33:05 pm why you want to buy it when its restored???
Title: Re: Vendo JUNIOR 123 - need round drum inside tub??? Post by: MaineT on July 03, 2012, 05:44:13 pm No, I remember seeing it in the back of the truck in the picture. It was on CL for high price for a long time and then on ebay.
Title: Re: Vendo JUNIOR 123 - need round drum inside tub??? Post by: ClassicCokeLover on April 27, 2013, 04:53:18 pm Just thought I would reply to this old thread. Maybe get some response regarding the reproduction stainless baskets for the Vendo Junior. Anybody have access to one or know who was reproducing them?
Title: Re: Vendo JUNIOR 123 - need round drum inside tub??? Post by: collecture on April 27, 2013, 08:59:17 pm Here is my original basket. You should be able to use the grill on the lid as a template as the holes line up to vend.
There was also a pre-cool shelf to the left of the basket. |
