Title: Coke Slider Post by: Dave on June 04, 2012, 10:30:44 pm Here's a pic of a mint 4 foot porcelain Coke button I found, and my EMBOSSED original Ideal 55 Coke slider. It has the "frankenstein" coin mech. These embossed versions are hard to locate.

Title: Re: Coke Slider Post by: jholmgren on June 05, 2012, 08:50:21 am Love the embossed slider also. That embossed slider looks a lot like the one Rod from Funtronics restored a little while back...and a lot like mine will look like when Pat is done with it. 8) Title: Re: Coke Slider Post by: MaineT on June 05, 2012, 09:34:43 am I want a better picture of that Bazooka machine on the wall... That looks sweet? Is it old or 80's?
Title: Re: Coke Slider Post by: MoonDawg on June 05, 2012, 10:01:48 am Both sliders and the button are fantastic originals!
That Bazooka machine also caught my eye. Looks like something you would only see on Dave's wall, (Birdman that is). Title: Re: Coke Slider Post by: Dave on June 05, 2012, 03:20:41 pm Jholmgren,
That embossed coke slider isn't restored, its all original. I bought it from a fellow collecter here in the KC area. It works great and is 100% complete. It does have "patina", but is too nice of an original to restore. I actually found a date inside the frankenstein coin door of 1957. I have a personal rule of thumb about deciding whether to restore an item or not.............. If the item is a 5 or below on a 1-10 scale, I might restore it. A 6 or above in my opinion is a "survivor" Thanks Dave Title: Re: Coke Slider Post by: jholmgren on June 05, 2012, 08:01:48 pm Jholmgren, That embossed coke slider isn't restored, its all original. So the cap catcher was black from the start? I thought they were originally red, that's good to know. I agree with you, they are only original once. The slider I'm having restored is definitely not in the 6+ category, it needs to be restored. My other machines are in the 'survivor' realm although my collection is not even close to yours. Thanks!
