Welcome to the site. :happydrinkers: Those are two nice machines that you have there. I also like the "EAT" neon sign as well as that Stoner candy machine that I can see an edge of. You will find this site and its members to be most helpful and quite often a bunch of smart alecs! 8) :drinking: Tim :drinking: Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: jholmgren on June 02, 2012, 05:46:18 pm D'oh! .... I have a favorite smart aleck reply I'd like to add, even though you've now added those pics of a couple of sweet machines: Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: Dave on June 02, 2012, 05:52:39 pm Thanks Tim....... I will post some more pics of my other "toys".

Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: Dave on June 02, 2012, 06:41:38 pm Thanks again Marvin. It had to come back to Missouri.
Especially with the property of MU sticker on the back and 1950'S MU milk cartons in the display topper. Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: coke_and_stuff on June 02, 2012, 08:58:02 pm Your lucky Dave, It almost went to Arkansas one night. Here's a pic of my restored vendo 39. This machine sat in the Pleasant Hill, MO post office its whole life. Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: tkaz on June 03, 2012, 12:34:13 am OK, you are killing me with jealousy now! Great juxtaposition with the 'slow school zone' sign in front of the car, I know that thing doesn't want to go 25...
The 468 sure makes good use of the oversized '55 engine bay, that thing looks great in there. What's it run in the quarter? Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: Dave on June 03, 2012, 12:51:47 am 10 sec flat Tkaz....
I told you I could bore you with pics of my "toys". Just say "uncle" and I will stop. Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: BONOVOX on June 03, 2012, 01:48:22 pm welcome to the site... WHAT TOOK YA SO LONG?! lol

Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: Dave on June 03, 2012, 08:53:28 pm Thanks Matt,
Fellow member Marvin from down in Tennessee was kind enough to sell it back to this Missouri boy. The machine was destined to come back here, because it sat at the university of Missouri in the 1950's. It still has the property of MU stickers on it ,along with the original 1950's MU display cartons in the display topper. By the way, Marvin and his collection were super cool. Southern hospitality at its finest. He made me and my dad feel right at home. Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: BrianS on June 03, 2012, 10:33:19 pm As a Mizzou grad myself, gotta love the milk cartons in the topper. I have to think those are the only ones of those still in existance. My garage looks a lot like yours, with the exception of the cool cars and the great signs. Do have a hot minivan in there, the wife is still a bit iffy on adding the nitrous to it though. Awesome stuff, glad to have you on the board.
Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: bcharlton on June 04, 2012, 08:55:22 am I love the crossing guard sign in front of a car 10 second car. Very cool. Is that a Wayne gas pump model 60? That is my favorite pump. Great pics.

Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: Blind1968 on June 04, 2012, 09:09:18 am Very Very Nice, you do all your own restorations?
Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: Dave on June 04, 2012, 03:26:42 pm Bcharlton,
Yes that is a Wayne 60 wide body. Thanks Dave Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: Dave on June 04, 2012, 03:30:59 pm Blind1968,
I like nice original machines. The couple of machines I have had restored, I do the tear down, and reassembly. The Vendo 39 was restored by a friend who owns "Gas from the Past" in Pleasant Hill, MO. Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: bcharlton on June 05, 2012, 07:44:56 am Thanks Dave,
I own both a wide body and a slim Wayne 60. I like the wide body better. BC Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: Dave on June 05, 2012, 03:27:43 pm Bcharlton,
I like the wide body Wayne 60's better too. Most "gas and oil guys" would disagree though, they prefer the narrow body Wayne 60's. I also have a Wayne 70 that is all PORCELAIN. Super rare. Most gas and oil guys have never even seen one. Flying A did just a few before deciding it wasn't real cost effective. I'll post a pic later. Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: bcharlton on June 06, 2012, 07:36:18 am My all time favorite pump, before and after. 1927 Erie clockface. My very first and probably my best restoration.
Title: Re: ORIGINAL Vendo 81A and Vendo milk machine Post by: Dave on June 06, 2012, 07:40:42 am That is an awesome pump. Love the pollys theme.
