Title: 1968 Bally World Cup Soccer Post by: mznb1u on June 01, 2012, 09:08:29 pm Anybody know anything about this machine? I have a line on one in original working condition. Very different than a Foosball table.

Title: Re: 1968 Bally World Cup Soccer Post by: davethebirdman on June 02, 2012, 03:05:31 am They are fairly common over here.. Lots of wires beneath. I think the Ginger Prince had one. Not very expensive here £300 maybe. Too many electrical parts for me. Title: Re: 1968 Bally World Cup Soccer Post by: aristocrat on June 02, 2012, 04:45:43 pm yep. i had one of those cost me £70 [$100] with no legs.. was going to put it in my cellar slot room to use as a low coffee table. it weighs a ton.....very heavy. i deliver pool tables to help my mate out who is an operator locally and would rather install a 7 foot slate table than move one of those about. i dropped it off at his warehouse to check it was all working and it was.......but boy was it noisy!!!!!!!!! you dont realise when its out of an arcade how noisy some of these old e/m games can be..................... anyway decided it was too heavy and too noisy to have mess about moving it so sold it on ebay UK for £400/$600 three weeks later....shame as i remembered when i was a kid being lifted up to play the handles up and down. have fun whatever you decide but dont ask me to fly over to help you unload.... Everyone in the world knows England won in 66 and world cups are 4 years apart??? Title: Re: 1968 Bally World Cup Soccer Post by: mznb1u on June 03, 2012, 06:58:01 am 1968 is the year the game came out but it is not referenced on the machine anywhere. In any event, the Green Bay Packers won the championship in 1968--oh wait, that was Super Bowl II!

Title: Re: 1968 Bally World Cup Soccer Post by: jholmgren on June 03, 2012, 11:42:33 am I am an American born male, so I'm an NFL fan... but I've played "real football" (aka soccer) for over 30 years. I still play in a couple of "old guys" leagues.
Really guys, it is OK to like both - they are equally great sports that share a common name. :happydrinkers: Then again...I play goalkeeper so I'm not exactly right in the head anyway. :Oo: Title: Re: 1968 Bally World Cup Soccer Post by: Kilroy on June 03, 2012, 12:01:10 pm It's all in good clean fun. and in actuality, I am more a hockey fanatic.

Great sport but hard to find leagues in my neck of the woods. Plus it's a bit pricy to get all the gear you need. Soccer is easy - a pair of shoes and some shinguards and you are ready to go!Title: Re: 1968 Bally World Cup Soccer Post by: MaineT on June 03, 2012, 03:08:09 pm I played ice hockey in college.
