Post by: Kaleid20 on May 31, 2012, 10:26:36 pm
I know these are more collectible then most of the other square tops...but what is a good price?

They want $800

Chances are slim that they lost all the freon. Since it is on CL, I assume you are local to it. Go over and have them plug it in. If you get any cooling on the evaporator at all, you know the compressor is working and the rest should not be a big problem.
It's not the more desirable 2-selection 55 but the light feature is nice.
Not cooling will deter a lot of interest so make that a bargaining tool on price.

Only square top I really like.  If you like it, $500 is not too bad.

Got it for $500. Probably one of the nicest sellers Ive ever dealt with it. So nice I didn't have the heart to go lower.

I think we need to put bounties on those nameless people who are telling sellers "probably needs a shot of freon"
And it looks like it had a padlock clasp to lock the door at one time.

What did you find out about the cooling?

Nice, I concur with about ~$500.00, but if it were a dual 55 I'd give them $750 hands down, cooling's not an issue for me ( 'Cause I can fix 'em anyway)

What did you find out about the cooling?

It gets down to about 45 degrees. It's how I got him to take $500 instead of $800.

I agree the only thing I hate more than "it needs a shot of freon" is "No Low Ballars!!!!!
