Title: Restored Vendo 39 w/ no compressor
Post by: Kaleid20 on May 30, 2012, 05:24:58 pm
Great looking Vendo 39...guy wants $1600. Considering a compressor will run as high as $900, what is a fair price here? I guess a restored immaculate Vendo 39 would go around $2000?

Thoughts here?

Well, Yes at that price you've paid for the restoration of the machine sans Refrigeration, so let's say you got a good used Refer' deck & restored it to the same level, you'd be into it about $900 total on top of that. At that price for the shell, I'd be all over it with a fine tooth comb & a magnet & I'd have to insist on "before" pictures to see what it looked like prior, ( you don't want to buy a bondo-queen)   :Oo::

and there's my two-cent option... :tounge:

He does say that it has a "new" drum.  Its hard to tell but it looks like the back piece of the drum has holes in it for a 12 oz bottle, if you had a project 39 with a working compressor, might not be a bad way to end up with a nice machine that could vend full size bottles.  Especially if you could get it for less than the current asking price.  Curious why someone whould put so much into a 39 without a refrigeration deck, especially if it was missing the original drum as well.

Some people just gotta have the original parts.  I have that same unit in my V-39.  Fortunatly for me, mine is assembled and cooling perfectly!
