Title: Selectivend can opener and coin box needed Post by: jcreid on May 21, 2012, 05:06:33 pm I picked up a neat old 7-up Selectivend can machine. Apparently it was built about the time that flat top soda cans were still the rage. There are some openings in the coin door and some mention in the instructions that there was a can opener originally bolted onto the machine. The notes even refer to an electrically operated one. From what I can figure out, you placed the can in the opener, activating a switch and down would come the plunger and place the snake bites in the top of the can.
An electric one would be the holy grail, but just the manual one would make me happy. Also looking for a coin box to fit it. Not sure if it's the same as other Selectivends, but I'm guessing so. Thanks for looking! -Jim Title: Re: Selectivend can opener and coin box needed Post by: collecture on May 21, 2012, 07:56:39 pm Post a pic of the coin area. I have an old box and bracket from SelectiVend S-48.
I think the 'electric' refers to a heated tip so as to keep it sanitary. Title: Re: Selectivend can opener and coin box needed Post by: collecture on May 21, 2012, 11:05:03 pm Not including bracket, the box I have measures 3"H x 3.5"W x 1.875"D
