Title: Re: Cav 72 value Post by: mygoose101 on May 20, 2012, 06:51:17 pm Hard to say with just those 2 pictures. If 100% complete and everything works $800 is a fair deal for the both of you. It's a large letter machine so that is a ++.

Bought my 72 last year for $700 or $800... dang can't remember... lucky I guess but it was in a antique mall... so it sat for a while. So be careful get all the info you can.. Title: Re: Cav 72 value Post by: MoonDawg on May 20, 2012, 07:57:44 pm I agree he is a little overpriced but let him find that out himself. I was watching one on my local CL for $950.00 for about 3 weeks. Finally I called and met him and he accepted my max. offer of $750.00
The machine you're looking at has had a poor paint job so it needs to be completely sandblasted but that is exactly what will keep a lot of buyers from calling on it. I think it will restore nicley. Title: Re: Cav 72 value Post by: Kaleid20 on May 20, 2012, 09:07:38 pm He had it listed at $3000 2 weeks ago. Quite a drop in price. I think $700 is the most I would offer. But as Creighton stated, I want pictures, pictures, pictures.
Title: Re: Cav 72 value Post by: Slapshot42 on May 21, 2012, 01:48:46 am I bought mine for 750. It needs a full restore. Im looking at another one about 20 mins away so im willing to give a more because transporting isnt really a factor or major cost. I offered him 800 cash today right in front of him and he said he had to think about it. I thought for sure he would of taken the dough! 8)
Title: Re: Cav 72 value Post by: Foos on May 25, 2012, 11:46:14 am I like the Cav 72s more than the Vendo 81s myself. If I get a full sized machine it will be a 72.
Title: Re: Cav 72 value Post by: flippa on May 25, 2012, 12:05:52 pm Make sure it is complete and not rotted!!! I have looked at a ton of these with significant body, beltline and liner damage.
If it indeed cools and functions, the cabinet and doors are fairly straight, and it doesn't have any major rust thru/rot or other damage, I guess it's not a bad price if you really want the machine. See if you can wait him out a little more, or go over with a pocket of cash and make an offer. If it really just needed exterior paint, I would grab it for $700 or $800. Nice find on your Cav 72 Eric. It looks real nice and for a real good price. Complete machines that are not trashed are getting much harder to find around me for reasonable money. |
