This is a very sad day.... he did so much in the auto industry...second to none.... The list of things he did goes on and on...  I have a 1968 shelby mustang GT 350.... he turned that car into a mean machine with style..... Will be missed

A true automotive legend!  The way the industry is driven by fuel economy and aerodynamics, it is very likely that we will never again see the kind of creativity and vision that Carroll Shelby had.

It will be interesting to see what the Shelby inspired cars sell for at this year's Barrett-Jackson.

Here's to you Mr. Shelby :happydrinkers:  You were an American original!

A very sad day indeed. Carroll contributed so much to the automotive industry, specifically to the specialized high-performance partnerships. My first car was a 67 Mustang Fastback in Highland Green. I had always dreamed of owning a Shelby Mustang.
   Thankyou Carroll Shelby.

I concur Kilroy!! His Chili seasoning is very good.
I'm going to the Ford Nationals this year in Carlisle, it's also the 50th anniversary celebration of Shelby Motors, and it will be the largest gathering ever of Shelby vehicles. I wonder if it's going to be a somber event now, Or a celebration of a lifetime of accomplishments?

I wanted to make Carlisle but swine work is in the way. It will be a celebration of the first order.
Hope the original 6 Daytona Coupes show. They all made an event 15 yrs. ago at Sears Point Raceway, CA.
First and only time at a track thought I should have brought ear plugs :-)

If you can please take some pics!!
Thanks!

I agree.  One day I will drop in a Shelby 427 in my 32 Ford.
