Title: Can this be restored? LOL
Post by: Slider-Bob on May 08, 2012, 09:08:21 pm
OK...I bought this Coke Glasco GBV-50 for parts.

Let me know if you think Rick can turn it into a Coke Ideal 55, or if you need parts.

So far, Pat's in the running for a freebie shell once I strip all the parts.  I'm thinking he may turn it down tho. :oh:

Compressor is seized by the way...maybe cause it was buried in mud for 30 years?

Just make sure you check your local swap meet for a box of replacement Glasco bottoms!

The wheels in the first photo ensure it slides effortlessly!

That should just buff out and some WD-40 on the engine and you have a $5,000 machine :-)

Geez Bob - all that needs is a little fiberglass patching, bondo and some rustolium.

That's what the PO of my Spitfire did to replace the rotted rocker panels and that worked out just fine for me.  :veryangry:
