Title: Degassing a machine for shipping overseas??? every heard of this? Post by: SIGNGUY on May 01, 2012, 10:22:48 am I have recently restored a Vendo 81b for client in Australia... I have all the shipping worked out , but yesterday was asked for a Degassing Certificate..
basically they are asking me to take out the freon I'm assuming? anyone every dealt with this? and is there any issues with that , or anytyhing the customer will have to do on his end to fill it? I'd just call it a refrigerator. Created 2012. Looks like a date prior to 1996 may raise a flag. Hope all goes well !! Declare it a sealed system, no valves, and mark it R134a if you truly rebuilt the system. If not, you cannot transport/ship systems containing R12... to properly degas a system insert an appropriate amount of Gas-X or Beano into the compressors suction-side service valve inlet, mix thoroughly & avoid giving it dairy foods. :tounge: |
