Title: Back From College- need some tips.
Post by: jnapp18 on April 28, 2012, 12:18:56 pm
So while I was at college, i made 2 purchases...

So they are both in pretty good condition except for the brass. First question is, brass plated steel, or brass? second question is, can i do anything to it to bring the brass back to better condition?

how about a better pic up close on the "damaged" plating.

I might be able to help out.

The Pause Backbar light is a real good one. To each their own, but I sanded one down and sprayed it Antique Gold and it came out great. Cost me less than 10 bucks, and about 2 hours of time.

Jack, as Tom stated... that's the 'cheap' way to do it.

PM me if you'd like to get a quote for real brass plating.

Tricky item to get a good pic of. Here is my Bud bar light that appears to be of the same construction.
Looks to be just gold paint with a clear coat. Brass plating would be cool. Leaving this one as is but there is always the next project :-)
Whats ballpark on the restore Eric?
Thanks.

Now Buddy... that's a loaded question. For you, just peanuts...but for other, Hostiles' on this board....$1 million dollars  :Oo:

I don't know Dude, each job is different. Rest assured, it won't be a 'budget breaker' ... I prefer to go on a "job by job" basis,
so PM me when you're ready for that "big" project.
