Title: All things in moderation
Post by: mznb1u on April 21, 2012, 06:23:26 am
The media did a nice hack job on Coca Cola in this article:

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/woman-coca-cola-habit-cited-death-161323721.html

The lady smoked a pack and a half a day, had a poor diet and drank between 2 and 2.5 gallons of Coca Cola a day.  She continued to do so even after she was diagnosed with high blood pressure--but now it is Coke's fault?!?!?!  :jawdrop: I would say only in America but this happened in New Zealand so it appears that the States do not have the market cornered on morons!

Next thing you know our classic Coca Cola machines will be classified as lethal weapons.  Better stock up!

Ain't that why they now put that fancy sticker on current machines that depict a machine falling over on a silhoette of a dummy(person)? Kinda like that warning on a 5 gallon bucket  of a kid crawling into a half-filled bucket with its head underwater? After all they are lethal weapons. LOL

I'm a big fan of the "Darwin" rule - let's remove all the silly warning stickers and thin out the shallow end of the gene pool a bit.   :tounge:

This is the "new" America that we now live in.  One of the reasons I love the "50s" is that it was a time that our great country was based on smaller governement and more self reliance.  We may have lost this forever.

I found it interesting and disturbing...when my wife came out here to Germany to visit last month, she wanted to take some Kindereggs back home to the kids.  Luckily I saw a note at the base customs office about taking them home to the states...they aren't allowed and would be confiscated if found.  I asked the agent what could possibly be wrong with chocolate hollow eggs with a toy surprise (very cool ones) inside?  He told me that we won't allow them into the states because Germany refuses to put a warning on the wrapper that you shouldn't eat the toy!  I guess the kids in Germany are just smart enough to figure that out, unlike their dumber counterparts in America!  Glad I have someone to warn me that hot coffee is hot!!

I remember Kindereggs.
So at some point, some bottom feeding lawyer sued. and they decided to stop shipping them to the US

I teach third graders who are in a German immersion program. I've seen those kindereggs before, but not recently. I'll have to ask them if they ever get them anymore.
