Title: Thermostat question on a Westy WD 10
Post by: SIGNGUY on April 12, 2012, 09:32:04 am
Hey Guys,
I'm finishing up the restoration of a WD 10 , first time doing one of these and I am replacing the "old School" pressure thermostat (see other post) with a standard thermostat... however I am using the Non Contact 42" long therm, so I can get the feed from the bottom, under the cooler where its mounted, up along the back and inside the cooling area... but I am not getting the thermostat to shut off, so am thinking because of the long run of the cap tube, it's not truley sensing the temp , cause only the end 10 inches or so are in the cooling area, the rest is exposed to the air?

so should i be using another type of thermostat? should I not run this line outside the tub? or now just typing this, thinking to myself,, should I just run the electrical inside the cooling area and put on a Contact style Thermostat and mount that inside the cooling area? I guess that would give me an accurate reading?

any tips or ideas would be welcomed...

Thanks
John

You may ask Eric at Global how he did mine.  It's been about 6 months he's probably only done like 250 since than!  :tounge:
