Guys this is for sale in my area...looks like the guy is desperate to sale as his listed price has dropped twice in a week.

Not one of my favorites, but what do you think of the asking price? I was leaning toward offering $600 if the rust isn't real bad.

Take 600 cash...and go make him in offer in person. You may be surprised!

$350-$450 - not that desirable a machine anymore

Yeah I'm not uber-high on this machine...lacks the embossing that I love so much. However, if I could get this for cheap, I'd pounce. We don't get many machines down here in TX for cheap. Prices are very inflated.

I have a friend with several of these and he can't give them away right now!

Be patient on finding your first machine.  I can relate to the frustration of finding that first one, but make sure you get one that will fit your space and your needs.  Once you get one, you have a lifetime to work on it and redo it.  You looking for one to use daily or one to turn into a showpiece?

I would take them too!  I would rather spend my money on something else.  The 33's just don't get me too excited.  But, if it was free, well that's a different story. 

Find a complete/working Vendo 39 for under a grand.  Even thought it is also not very practical, it is  still a pretty cool machine.

I agree, spend the money, maybe even the same amount, and get / wait for a 39 to come along.
You even said yourself you're not stoked about this machine, but the price is cheap.  Why get a machine taking up space in your cave when you're not gonna be proud to show it off?  Sometimes its better to go home alone, then to go home with the last girl at the bar.  There is a reason why she's the last one lol.

Just my thoughts, but what do I know! Whatever I learned, I learned from here lol  :laugh:

Oh, and my neck of the woods sounds like yours... that machine here would fetch 800 easy all day long.  But, for me to go drive to place that sell them cheaper, and resell them here, with gas at 1.40 a L, just not worth it.

Im itchin to pick up another machine too lol.... just waitin on the right one.

lol.. yeah, sometimes.... my luck when I was single was some of the girls were wing nuts,.... That, and my beer goggles sometimes let me down.  :drinking:
