Title: Leaving for China tomorrow Post by: bcharlton on March 08, 2012, 11:29:58 am Taking a family vacation to China tomorrow. I will be off the board for 8 days. If anyone has been to China and has any ideas, please let me know.
I doubt I will find any cool soda stuff or 50s malt shop items there. I will take some pictures and hopefully see something old and interesting. Brian Title: Re: Leaving for China tomorrow Post by: Swachtelncc on March 08, 2012, 01:09:06 pm have a safe trip, can't wait to see some pics
Title: Re: Leaving for China tomorrow Post by: PopcornShop on March 08, 2012, 01:42:23 pm Hey Brian... Have fun on the trip... You may find alot of things there that LOOK old but are reproductions or replicas as they call it.... They are the masters of replicas and reproductions... Have a good time  ....Brian....
Title: Re: Leaving for China tomorrow Post by: BONOVOX on March 08, 2012, 04:13:51 pm I agree with PopCornShop.... I went to Japan a couple of years ago, and the amount of Coca Coal stuff was PLENTY, but just about all was repo or new.
We did have a good time looking at a antique sale we ran into. But again, all we did was look, as nothing really caught my eye (my wife on the other hand loved everything.) Different culture, different tastes, different vintage things. Either way, have a great time, dont eat anything purple, and take some cool pics! :happydrinkers: P.S. If you find that guy there that made all those knock off RC plates, tell him to please stop. :tounge: Title: Re: Leaving for China tomorrow Post by: ciawarrior on March 08, 2012, 06:24:43 pm http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1089.html#safety
Title: Re: Leaving for China tomorrow Post by: Creighton on March 08, 2012, 09:28:41 pm Closest I got to China was Singapore. Keep cash and Passports in a zipped up front pocket. Pickpockets will get anything in behind or side pockets.
Have a great time and looking forward to the pics! Creighton Title: Re: Leaving for China tomorrow Post by: collecture on March 08, 2012, 11:58:37 pm Hey Brian,

Look forward to getting the WD-5 you are restoring for me. Keep an eye out for Stoner Theatres while you are out there. Dave Title: Re: Leaving for China tomorrow Post by: bcharlton on March 19, 2012, 09:23:55 am Just got back. Great trip. Unfortunately, no cool soda stuff.
I did see some old bikes from the 1950s that people ride to work every day. BC |
