Title: VMC 27 Counter top Pepsi
Post by: johnnyselman on March 05, 2012, 01:26:36 pm
I have to replace a fan motor/blades assembly in a 27 counter top. Wondering if any of you guys have any tips. Does the complete cooling unit have to come out. I'm doing it for a friend and the machine is not here yet. Just wanted to know if its a quick thing or if he is going to need to leave it.
 Thanks,Johnny

Hi Johnny,
You'll need to remove it, but four nuts and the whole unit slides out. It is easy!
Fan motor is mounted in the rear, but you'll need to remove the evap side fan blade first. It can be a bear to remove!
It is a single motor with the shaft sticking out both sides and two blades attached. Fun-Tronics carries a motor, but I think you will need their fan blades too as the motor shaft is not the same diameter.
Good luck!

Got it in! Is it correct that the condenser fan does not blow air out it sucks it in? Seems they would want to blow the air away from the machine. But maybe since it was designed as a counter top they didnt want to blow the hot air directly out!
