Title: Just finished my WD-5 (First Machine)
Post by: Iusamson on February 20, 2012, 09:34:07 pm
Hey all -

Just finished my first machine.  It is a WD5 I purchased during a car show in PA.  Wasn't in terrible shape when i started, but i stripped it down, painted and striped it, powdercoated the inside and put it all back together.  Many thanks to Eric at global compressors for a first rate job of restoring the refrigeration unit.

I haven't posted on here yet, but found a lot of helpful topics and information during my restoration.  I usually do cars, and this was a really nice (and quick) project that I had a lot of fun on.

Thanks,
Josh

More pics of the inside - I like how the powdercoating turned out.

Sweet!  Is the embossing hand-painted or did you use the masking method?

Thanks everyone.  I had it hand striped by a guy who does some of our cars.  It turned out really nice!

Congrats.  One of the most  practical machines you will ever do.

Enjoy it.

Also, can I get the electrical schematics for the compressure on the WD-5?  I have taken mine apart electrically, and what to make sure I put in back together correctly.

I wish i had them, but Eric from Global Compressors did my whole compressor, including wiring.  Not sure if he has them readily available or not.
