Title: BOTTLE CAP FIND
Post by: BONOVOX on February 20, 2012, 06:39:52 pm
Hi all
Getting a machine that I recently bought buffed out at my local detailing shop.
Before I handed it over to him, I cleaned out the bottle cap catcher, and this is what I found.
I know they are not rare or anything, but I like them lol...

For any of you Michigan Mafia guys,  8), there are 2 Lions players that were on the inside of some Coke caps. (as well as the Ditka)

I like finding things like that in the machines!

Thats pretty cool! All I found in my machine was a pull tab and a few matchbooks. They are pretty water damaged but the neat thing though was that the matchbooks were all from the same gas station which makes me think that it might be the place where my machine was when it was new and in service.

I was just lookin on Ebay to see various caps listed....
Does anyone here know how all of these UNUSED caps are being sold on Ebay from the 50's and 60's?

I mean, there are lots of sellers selling a lot of unused corked caps!  Why are there so many unused caps around?

Any thought?

changes in the cap artwork/design, cork to plastic sealed, bottle plants closings... probably some
of the reason you see so many... a plant closed near here and a friend got a entire box of the
cork lined clowns that I believe Grapette used.... I think it took him a while but he sold them all.
