Title: install refrigeration unit Ideal 55 Post by: pcbooton on February 18, 2012, 03:15:54 pm This is my first restoration project. I purchased an Ideal 55 pepsi slider that did not have the motor, compressor, evaporater, etc. just an empty shell. Then I purchased a refrigeration unit that fits on ebay, but I have no instructions on how to install it and how to hook up the electric and the cool air lines. Does anyone know of a place on the web where I can find install instructions with pictures. Thank you.

The slider cooling mechanism is different than other dry chests... the cooling lines are acually inside the walls of the cooler... you would have to install the compressor , condensor unit and then connect the lines and then have them filled with coolant. if you are not a refrigeration guy, or have the tools to do it, you won't be able to do it yoruself.. you'll need to take it to a refrigeration specialist to hook it up, charge it..etc..
