Title: Re: Pop vs. Soda Post by: flippa on February 16, 2012, 09:42:48 am When I was a kid it was always referred to as "tonic" in the Boston area.
Still hear some old timers calling it that, but mostly everyone else calls it soda. Title: Re: Pop vs. Soda Post by: SIGNGUY on February 16, 2012, 09:46:00 am Growing up in a Family that owned a Coke Bottling Plant, everything was Coke, and we weren't allowed to say the "P" word.. seriously.. got yelled at for saying it..
Even the word Pop was frowned on and I often heard the term " Soft Drinks" when other brands where mentioned... Title: Re: Pop vs. Soda Post by: 90grad on February 16, 2012, 10:28:14 am In Maryland, it's soda.

Title: Re: Pop vs. Soda Post by: HI-OCTANE on February 19, 2012, 07:32:05 pm We called it soda pop in my family, That' when it was a real treat. Because my mom did not buy soda pop much because it was not a healthy choice, and when she did buy it it was always some off brand like Shasta.
Title: Re: Pop vs. Soda Post by: BrianS on February 20, 2012, 01:23:19 am Found it interesting how quickly some of the colors changed. Look at the St. Louis area, there is an area of "soda" users surrounded by "pop" on the North and "Coke" on the south. Then in the Northeast, it almost instantly changes over from "soda" to "pop". Thanks for posting this, really enjoyed looking at it.
