Title: Coin Mech Bench Tester
Post by: aspbear on February 11, 2012, 02:41:45 pm
I have acquired several coin mechanisms over a period of time from swap meets and flea markets with some manual's  Coinco and National.  It seems sometime ago someone had made a female plug from a machine into a way to be able to test on a work bench.  I have looked and not been able to find that post and I was just wondering if someone had made such a setup and if so could you share how you made it.

Not Going into the business I just want to learn and tinker with the ones I have....

I have a bench tester & a hand held portable tester, & I gave one of my old hand-held units to Pat Pixley.

here are some on eBay, but they are expensive... http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=vending+machine+tester&_sacat=0&_odkw=dba+tester&_osacat=0&_from=R40 (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=vending+machine+tester&_sacat=0&_odkw=dba+tester&_osacat=0&_from=R40)

When making a freeplay switch, you cut the cord off of an old coin mech and tie the purple and yellow wires together and clamp them  to one leg of a momentary switch, then the blue wire to the other leg. Pushing the switch activates a 110v relay in the machine.

I would think that using a female Jones plug and locating the pins that correspond to the above mentioned colors......a person could also lead those 3 wires to a 110v light bulb.

Yeah, 500 was a little more than I had in mind.  I think I am going to try Moondawg's method.  I have the an extra female plug.  So if you all here of a large fire in which a lot of old soda machines, coolers and signs burnt up plus an old guy is in intensive care burn unit, you will know that it did not go smoothly.  Thanks for all the replys....
