Title: Vendo 63 vending problems - sometimes Post by: dr galaga on July 02, 2004, 04:37:47 pm I recently purchased a Vendo 63. My wife has been having problems with it vending sometimes, but I thought that she was just not pulling the bottles hard enough. I decided to investigate further and it seems to happen on the top 4 selections the most. I even tried pulling the vending mechanism by hand (grasping the rollers) and it comes part way (about a third?) out. I pull a couple of times and it finally releases. I checked the block bar and felt behind the captive bar and everything seems okay, but it has be to catching on something.
I have the December 1958 version of the manual and it lists some things to lubricate. It seems like most of the items are behind the captive bar and the vend port assembly! Now, finally, here are my questions: 1) Do you think lubricating will help? If not, what else can I do? 2) How do I easily lubricate these parts? Do I have to take the whole darn thing apart? If anyone has a "lubricating diagram" I would like to see it (Rock-Ola included one with their jukebox manuals, I wonder why Vendo doesn't include it with their machines). Title: Vendo 63 vending problems - sometimes Post by: vendobaldtops on July 03, 2004, 07:05:53 pm I would try WD 40ing everything and manually moving things back and forth....why are you making your wife do all the dirty work...she's having all the fun!
Title: Vendo 63 vending problems - sometimes Post by: Creighton on July 04, 2004, 03:14:06 am Had similiar troubles on a RT-56 stack. It's not that hard to take out (just ackward). A good bath is in order before any oiling. I just used a drop of sewing machine oil at friction points. Hope this helps.
Creighton Title: Vendo 63 vending problems - sometimes Post by: dr galaga on July 05, 2004, 07:04:44 pm Thanks for the help. I oiled some parts, worked them and it seems to work a little better. Maybe later in the week I'll have a chance to get in there further and oil up some more. I'm still debating about trying to take out the vending mechanism or not.
Title: Vendo 63 vending problems - sometimes Post by: Jim on July 05, 2004, 09:51:17 pm I'm coming in on this discussion a little late, but thought I would suggest removing the vending rack since it's relatively easy to do and lubricate with some white lithium grease on all the cams/gate levers.
FYI, WD-40 eventually gums up and I don't recommend it in certain applications, Title: Vendo 63 vending problems - sometimes Post by: dr galaga on July 11, 2004, 01:37:59 pm Update: I tried to take the vending mechanism apart but the two long screws on the left-hand side would not move. But I took the other screws out and let the mechanism tilt to the right on top of the vending soilinoid and it brought the mechanism out enough that I could get my oil can nozzle in there and squirt all of the contact points. I worked it in and now it works like new!
