Title: Auction
Post by: cola62 on January 14, 2012, 07:52:06 pm
Went to an auction today in Landrum SC. Lots of signs.  I bought a WD-22 for some reason.  It went for $125.  Don't know what I am going to do with it.

Wow! It looks like it is in pretty good shape.

How was the rest of the auction?

Yeah, that is nice! Have you seen those sofas that people make out of them. Not sure if I could bring myself to do that but if the machine would cost to much to restore and many parts were missing I bet I would. Nice price! Does it run?  That auction looks sweet, what did that crossing guard sign and that BAD A$$ booth sell for?

I bought two root beer clocks for $65 each (Hires and Dad's).  Some of the signs went cheap, some went through the roof.  They are having another one in March.  I will defiantly go back.  I found this auction on Auction Zip. Great site to find auctions near you.  Just punch in your zip code and advertising auctions.   The crossing guard did not go up for sale.  I believe it belonged to the auction house.

The Coke box does run fine and is complete.  No dents at all.  My problem with it is just the size of it.

Sorry, forgot to mention the booth.  It actually was an older piece that came out of Dollywood in Tenn.  The table and the booth together went for $150.  (Great buy)

Did they sell most of the things on the walls?

Yes everything sold and no reserves.  They did charge a 10% buyers premium.

I  bought this flange sign at the auction.  Do any of you know anything about it.  It appears to be original and is very heavy.  I can't find any information on it.
