Title: Pepsi Bottle Cap Sign Post by: Flightfanatic on January 05, 2012, 08:17:32 pm Hello, I bought this at an antique shop earlier today. I believe it's original but it doesn't say a sign company name. I believe it is from 1965. Any information about value, sign company, etc would be appreciated.

Title: Re: Pepsi Bottle Cap Sign Post by: Eric on January 06, 2012, 12:02:58 pm You have the real deal - Stout Sign may have made yours... they are one of the BIG Sign companies that made the originals and also make the reproductions now... the “real” (old) signs had that green “wash” on the backing.... to where today it's solid if painted at all... most metal stock for signs today have a white coating... also many signs produced now are of aluminum (cheaper and won't rust)... another tell tale is on the
newer Pepsi sign caps the colors red and blue go all the way to the edge to where yours has the ridge of white all the way around... Yours is marked and dated... Very nice sign... Congrats :happydrinkers: |
