Title: New Years Project - Vendo Coin Changer Pole Mounting Plate
Post by: Jim on January 03, 2012, 09:23:03 pm
Hello everyone,

I try to be brief, but I would like feedback on the topic...

I've been researching the idea of reproducing an aluminum pole mount back plate for the Vendo Coin Changer.
My fabricator and I have narrowed down the slight changes needed from an "original back plate" to keep the project as "close to original" as possible while maintaining costs...
With this said, I should be able to sell a few of them between $120 - $140 depending on quantity in the production.

Is there a possible interest with a few members...?
If so, questions, concerns or other ideas are welcome!

Thank you for your time!

Nobody has an interest...?
Or should I post this in the General Chit Chat so more people can chime in...?

I think it's a great idea , however for me,, floor space is a valuable commodity and I prefer to hang mine on the wall...
just my two cents..

I would buy one if I had a changer.  Would love to get one of those someday.

Just to clarify, this will be for the "pole mount back plate"; I may have a complete setup for sale next month as pictured below...

AS for the slight changes, the first will be the way the pole guides/supports will be milled square to the plate whereas the original has a slight curve; the other will be how deep the pole guides/supports are... Meaning an original is approx. 3/4" high from the back plate; the reproduction would be approx. 5/8" high. This is due to billet aluminum stock sizes. Functionality will not be affected from these slight changes.

An original stand is on the right.
The pole used a straight thread (not tapered like plumbing pipe) and was threaded through the base with a nut on the underside. Then the base could be bolted to the ground through the holes on each side.
The Coca Cola stand I fabricated using plumbing pipe.
I have original backing plates on both stands

Thanks for the Photos Tom ! ! !

Hope that clarifies the difference between bases/poles...

And just for the record, I'm only looking at reproducing the back plate the pole/coin changer mount to. In Tom's photo, you can see the outer edge around the coin changer...
