Title: VMC Pepsi 110 on eBay
Post by: Matt on December 31, 2011, 02:29:01 am
Great starting price of $500. You don't see many VMC Pepsi 110s.

I saw that this morning. Good price, but it looks like the coin mechanism may be missing key components. If bidding, ask for clearer pics of the mechanism with the slug rejector removed. I think it is missing the coin block, which is nearly impossible to find or make (without expense).

It's a local pick-up only. That definitely plays into the purchase. I know I can't go that far to pick it up.

I agree....
Im not an expert on these things, but there is that pc at the bottom of the rejector missing.
If this were closer, I would consider it.
And If I lived closer to it, my wife would file for divorce lol

Again, Im no expert... learning every day.....
But why is the "plate" (dont know the name for it) where the crank handle is, red?
Do you think someone replaced the entire coin mech area from a coke 110?

What do you guys think this machine is worth as it sits?

I had this same question a couple weeks ago when an unrestored Pepsi 81 ended up on eBay. It had even more red paint. See the pictures below.

I'm starting to wonder if Pepsi machines had a red base coat?? Either that or this machine went from blue to red and back to blue. On the other hand, the machine or certain parts could be fake. But would someone really go to the trouble to "create" a Pepsi cabinet door with the Pepsi logo, VMC embossed area, removal of the Vendo embossing, and replacement of the bottle door?

That Pepsi 81 is not fake it Belongs to Ron @ Cornhusker.

I didn't think so. But what's the story behind all the red paint? And the 110 also shows signs of red paint.

The second machine looks like it might have been acquired by Coca Cola, repainted, and had a sign placed over the Pepsi logo. I bought a C-51 with a Pepsi sign covering the Coca Cola logo. My C-51, interestingly enough, was still painted red. The two companies were (or still are) in a very intense competition and it appears that rebranding a machine or two wasn't out of the question.
