Title: awesome old car factory video
Post by: scalebowler on December 16, 2011, 12:17:25 am
Was looking around on youtube and I found this awesome video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40yDbeukR10
It is a video of a car assembly plant from the 1930's and it is really interesting to see all of those machines making the parts for the cars. My favorite machines are those presses shaping all of the body parts. It is actually a lot more machines than I thought would be in a plant from that era.

lol I bet they would! I also found that this video is actually part of a longer one that chevy made that shows pretty much the whole manufacturing process from casting the engine blocks to driving the car away. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bT6txm4RpA&list=FLebk7gcw0PM4vmXLETD-smA&index=1&feature=plpp_video

I'm a little surprised how much robots and machinery was available back then.

Pretty cool.  That video looks like a Diego Rivera mural in motion!
