Title: Orange Crush Cooler Value
Post by: vintage-air on December 08, 2011, 08:19:57 pm
I know theses are pretty rare and don't come up for sale very often. Only seen one other one for sale in the last 3 years and it was overpriced. Any idea what is an average market value? No inner rack or coin mech. but is original pain and cools.

I'm not sure what they are worth, but it's one of the few sliders I would buy that, even though it's missing the good parts...I would go as high as $600 or $700 missing the parts.

I'd pay $800 for it as is.  I've wanted one for as long as I can remember. LMK if you decide to sell it, or need a rack and coin mech to make it complete.

Wow, very nice. It's one of the few machines I would overpay for just to own it.

Well, it appears, after a lengthy discussion with the seller and several more close up pictures, this is a generic cooler that was painted orange and the logo is a decal only... not embossed. She says they have owned this machine for many years and trusts that it is the original paint. What do you guys think? I see no embossed metal on it from the pictures.

It's hard to tell from the photos.. one thing I will tell you is after working a few of these.. the embossing is not very defined, it's a very low profile embossing and judging by the artwork on it, It is all the same as on the embossed coolers.. keep in mind the word drink on these is NOT embossed it was screened on originally.

I'd ask for more closeupphotos if you can't see it in person...

So you're saying that the only embossing on this cooler is "Orange Crush"? Heres a close up picture she sent. Tell me what you think.

At first glance to me it looks painked on but with a closer look I believe the orange crush is embossed. would love to have that sucker!!!!

we'll again, can't be 100% certain, but it looks like a decal or stenciled... I don't see any sign of it being raised.

the only part that is not emobossed is the word Drink.. the rest is embossed... on originals..

is there a side view photo... I sure would hate for you to pass on it if it was ... but if it's just generic.. we'll then not worth more than any other usual generic.

It looks to be non-embossed to me.  If that's the case, I retract my offer.

I can't tell. It looks like a decal, then I stare at it and I think it's the edge of the embossing.

The lettering is exactly like the embossed font but when comparing this slider to an real OC it appears the entire set of lettering is positioned higher. I too believe it is silkscreened on but still a nice straight original machine.
