Title: sales tax in illinois

I am from illinois and have bought several item on e bay from ill. The last item I bought I had to pay sales tax. Not sure why this item and no others. Can anyone explain. Steve

Is it something to do with the seller being registered as a bussiness.
We don't have sales tax here in the UK... Instead the theiving bast**ds take 20% on everything and call it
Value Added Tax.

are you from illinois? or did you pick it up in illinois?   if not you should not have paid sales tax on it

If you're from Illinois and the seller is a buisness in Illinois, Ebay slaps on the tax.  I have bought a few items that were just from average locals and paid no tax, but if they are a buisness, they sock it to you. :Oo:
