Title: VMC 33-3D help needed
Post by: davin72 on November 20, 2011, 09:15:50 pm
So I finally got around to putting a new power cord on this thing so I can get it going but im having a little bit of trouble. With the thermostat in the off position I plug it in and the fan inside under the drum comes on. As soon as I turn on the thermostat it trips the breaker. Ive looked all over and dont see any bad wiring anywhere so I dont think its that. This is an old resto so maybe theres a chance things are not hooked up in the junction box correctly. Does someone have a diagram of the box so I can check that out. If anyone has any other ideas on what it could be please let me know.

Start with the basics, it's not a multi-vend machine, so the wiring harness is the same basically as any other earlier single flavor bottle vendor.  Your machine may not have the "Vend-Line" circuit, but this diagram may help.

Since it does not short out with the t/s off it sounds as if the junction box is OK. Problem exists inside the compressor box as in Johnie's diagram. Remove the cover and you will probably find a bare / cracked wire.
