Title: Coke Christmas bottles 2011 Post by: Gumbo on November 20, 2011, 01:41:27 pm I picked up a few of the 4 pack 2011 Christmas coke bottles today at WalMart. I feel we all should support coke's effort to continue to make the bottles and buy a few for our vintage machines. I also found some 7up in bottles a few weeks ago in a little country store in WV. Here are a few photos.

The 12 oz 7up bottles have been around since at least the summer time. I believe they were bottled for a limited time only. In fact, I used to find them at Walmart but they have not had them in stock for quite a while. Title: Re: Coke Christmas bottles 2011 Post by: coke_and_stuff on November 20, 2011, 05:32:38 pm The first coke bottle pictured is styled after the hutchinson bottle, the first bottle coke used in the late 1800s very early 1900s. I agree they failed bad on this one...

The thing with the special bottles for me is, if I buy them I hate to drink them. But if I don't drink them they just sit around as dust collectors. So in the end i drink them and recycle the bottle. Title: Re: Coke Christmas bottles 2011 Post by: Gumbo on November 20, 2011, 07:14:14 pm How long will coke (any soda) keep in a glass bottle like this? In other words, if I buy several 4 packs could I use them in say Oct. of next year? BTW -the 7up bottle is just a plastic sticker over a green bottle. It is not like the old way where they were painted on.
Title: Re: Coke Christmas bottles 2011 Post by: Kilroy on November 20, 2011, 07:56:32 pm Ifthe conditions are good, i e cool dry place with temps that don't fluctuate bottles will last up to 2 years.

Title: Re: Coke Christmas bottles 2011 Post by: mznb1u on November 21, 2011, 02:07:58 pm Kilroy is correct. The small bottles kept in a cool, dry place out of direct sun will last a long time. There is an independent Coke bottler in the Upper Peninsula of MI and they will sell to the public at wholesale prices. I picked up nine cases of the small bottles (Sprite, Diet Coke and Coke) and they tasted good for more than a year afterwards.

Or include a six pack or two when you send out a completed machine. Title: Re: Coke Christmas bottles 2011 Post by: Gumbo on November 21, 2011, 08:49:22 pm Can't get sprite in bottles here in northern Virginia. Wish I could!
