Title: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: Thrasher on November 19, 2011, 09:31:24 am I'm new here and apologize if I am doing this wrong. I'm looking for wd-10 cap catcher to finish a restoration. Any leads will be appreciated.

I don't have your part but I'm sure someone will pipe in who does. Good Luck. Hate it when you only need one bit to finish the job.. Be careful you get a Westinghouse cap cather, I'm not sure if the Cavaleir bow chest catchers would fit.

As I recall, the Cavalier version has the mounting holes in a different spot on the back of the cap catcher. Title: Re: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: Slapshot42 on November 24, 2011, 12:15:07 am Johnnie G is correct.
The correct distance for Westy WD10 is like 7' 1/4. You can measure the mounting rivets on the machine to be exact. The Cavalier machines are a larger width span between mounting. Funtronics sells re pops, the cavalier bezel is to be used, the mounting brackets for the machine are sold at SJW. Title: Re: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: Slapshot42 on November 24, 2011, 04:38:43 pm Yes, they are. I have yet to find a halfway decent cap catcher for a WD 10. For home use the re pops look nice. If I didn't do a complete restoration I would settle for some average orginals.
Title: Re: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: collecture on November 24, 2011, 04:59:38 pm I have a Westy cap catcher, but it has no bottle opener bezel on it because I stole it for my WD-5. It is in great shape albeit missing the bezel.
Let me know if interested. Title: Re: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: Slapshot42 on November 24, 2011, 05:22:34 pm Yes, im interested but do is the orinator of this thread.
I started the same thread 4 months ago, and had one but it was in moderate condition. And the price was a little more than I wanted to pay. Let me know Tom. The Cavalier bezel should work fine. Thanks Title: Re: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: Thrasher on November 24, 2011, 06:46:40 pm Thanks to each of you for trying to help a newbie. I'm still interested in trying to find a cap catcher ( the last item I need for my restoration - my first). I do have a bezel.

What did your restoration consist of? Title: Re: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: Thrasher on November 24, 2011, 07:03:02 pm Found a wd-10 on eBay last Jan. It was in pretty good shape but had been used as a bait box. I have replaced seals, door lids, repaired holes in door where a pad lock had been put on, sand blasted and primed. I have been waiting to paint until I had a cap catcher. It's been fun.
Title: Re: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: Slapshot42 on November 24, 2011, 07:08:22 pm I got mine last Febraury. Which seals did you replace?
I did a full breakdown, sandblasted, powdercated, new galvanized tub, restored compressor, hand lettering on the entire macchine. Curious wha seals you replaced, some are not available for this machine yet.... Title: Re: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: Thrasher on November 24, 2011, 07:43:22 pm Seal/gasket each lid. I think you are right about the main seal on the body not being made. I had to retrieve my old one out of debris when I discovered no one had replacements. I did get conflicting email from two vendors that sell the same post-war body gasket for wh. One said it would not work and the other said it would. I didn't try. Did you have the tub built or did you find one? Also, who did your compressor work?
Title: Re: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: Slapshot42 on November 24, 2011, 09:12:55 pm SJW is in the process of making the correct gasket. Last time I checked it should be ready Dec. 1st.
I'm refering to the tub gasket that goes behind the breaker strips which the top piece screws into the body of the chest, and the body screw into the metal part of the tub. The gasket sits flush behind the breaker strips. Funtronics sells a gasket, part number 28 -Z, I cannot get the gasket to work for this tub. It works for the WD-12, but I haven't been able to get it to work for the 10. Hold out for thes SJW gasket that shoul work. Global Compressors, $595.00 plus shipping both ways..... Title: Re: Looking for a wd-10 cap catcher Post by: Slapshot42 on November 24, 2011, 09:15:02 pm I had a brand new tub made for 75.00.
