Title: Ultimate Hershey's Stoner Machine
Post by: Funtronics on October 29, 2011, 05:40:42 pm
Here is the ultimate Stoner candy machine that my daughter helped me design. I had a six pull Stoner sitting in the corner of my shop, and I asked my daughter what she thought would be a cool theme to do the Stoner in. She said how about a Hershey machine. So we sat down and did some searching on the internet and picked out the characters that we wanted to use. We then took the machine apart and took to my painter who came up with a great color and did a great job painting it.  Thanks to Tom the mech works like a new one. The rack took some time to take all apart and have all the flappers powder coated. In the end it turned out better than we had hoped. I will be bringing this to the Chicago show to sell. My daughter is not happy about that. I promiced her that we would do another one later. Enjoy the pictures.  :drinking:

Personally, if I asked my kid to help me design it, I would not sell it.  That would be crushing to a kid.  Odds are you will not do another one because projects will be on the back burner.  I would let her keep it and do another one for the next show.  After all, you said it was previously just sitting around.  Let it sit at home and do another one if time permits.

I told her I would give her a percentage of the profits when we sell it. I have another six pull in the shop now that she started taking apart. She likes taking things apart. Lucky for me I have done enough of these that I know howl they go back together. So we should have hers done this winter. She really wasn't wild about the cream color. She wants hers white not the cream color.
The graphics are decals and not painted on.
Matt the asking price is $5,200. I know that sounds high, but a lot of work And planning goes into something like this.  :happydrinkers:

Money talks.

That's cool that she helps in taking it apart.....now you have to teach her how to put it back together without spare parts.

Great work Rod, it's not so much the machine it self, it's the working together with your kids, that's what they will remember... the time spend with them. I did a few wood projects with my kids when the where younger and 10 years later they still remember them very fondly and with greater detail then I ever could.

I see them on Ebay for big $$$ and I figured someone was just praying for that one person to come along and really want it bad and money was no object for them....I know the time that goes into them, I just didn't think you could get the money out of it...

I'd have no doubt he could get that from one.. I'm sure the ones that curtis has done, with the M&M theme would be that if not more...
I bet it will sell no problem , as it's unique and cool!
