Title: Large Fishtail Coke Sign
Post by: Ken R on October 27, 2011, 10:35:52 pm
All,
Here's a pic of a fishtail logo Coke sign that we have in our upcoming auction next Friday, 4 Nov.  This thing is huge, approximately 3'x6'.  It appears to have been inside for most of its life as it is in remarkable shape.  I'm not the expert, but from what I can tell by looking at it, it looks to be an original sign.
The second sign is a painted sign, dated 1946 in lower right corner.  Seems odd to be painted the way it is, but appears to be an authentic original sign painted by Coca Cola.  It also appears to have been painted over another sign as there are letters that can be seen faintly at the top edge of sign.  Interesting sign nonetheless.  If interested in more information or pics, please let me know.

Leonard,
The last auction we just did had several signs we shipped.  I believe the largest we shipped, which was a porcelain Texaco 40" sign, ran somewhere between $50-100 to ship via UPS.  Not sure if this one would be the same or not due to its larger size and all.
