Title: Just Completed Heintz C2P Canada Dry Spur Cooler Post by: 39Dukester on October 24, 2011, 01:53:22 am Just Completed - Here's my newly restored Canada Dry Spur Cooler (Model Heintz C2P). It was restored by Larry Wingate in Abbott, TX. Check out the before picture, it's to the left of the old red gas pump (you can see pics of the restored gas pump on www.oldgas.com, search "Southwest Model 812" on the website or google or yahoo search)

Title: Re: Just Completed Heintz C2P Canada Dry Spur Cooler Post by: 39Dukester on October 25, 2011, 12:25:23 pm Hello Funtronics, No it didn't have the original glass with the etching. I do have a good picture of one and I was thinking about having it done but I kindv'e like it clear. I live in Sacramento, and there is a Root Beer store in downtown Chico, CA. They have just about every type of root beer and regular old time sodas for sale, Nehi, peahes and cream, over a hundred of the old time classics, etc. I plan on stocking up with dozens of flavors and when the kids, cousins, grandchildren all come over, they Will just love it. The cooler is on rollers and easily rolls from the garage to the back yard patio for barbecues and other social events. I can also keep beer and wine for the grown up parties.
I'm still deployed in Iraq (U.S. Army Blackhawk Pilot) and will be returning home next month. The way I found them, I was at Fort Hood, TX a year ago being mobilized to come to Iraq when one day I went for a drive and came across Larry Wingate's place in Abbott, TX, he had all kinds of stuff, and I bought the gas pumps and cooler and he restored them for me while I was gone. I look forward to picking up my cooler and gas pumps from Larry in Texas and hauling them all back home to enjoy. I'll post pics when I get home and get the cooler filled with the sodas.
