Title: Machine rarity Post by: Bob K on June 09, 2004, 12:42:16 pm Hi folks,
For the Cavalier two selection C55-E, production was 225 units in 1962 and an additional 600 in 1963. Total produced was 825. Does that constitute a rare machine? I know Vendo cranked out around 80,000 V39 units over the years. I don't know how many V81's were made. Is 825 units considered a fairly small run of machines? Can someone post production numbers for some of the more popular models just for comparison's sake? Maybe there's a source that has this production info? Thanks, Bob Title: Re: Machine rarity Post by: redlegs on November 05, 2015, 06:14:33 pm Any idea of the serial numbers issued by year? I have one need a coin box for it?
Title: Re: Machine rarity Post by: GreenMo on November 05, 2015, 07:17:48 pm 825 units is extremely rare. As a point of reference the cav 102 had a run of 500 or so and it's considered as one of the most rare.

How did you obtain your Cavalier statistics for production figures? Title: Re: Machine rarity Post by: GreenMo on November 06, 2015, 10:58:04 am I can get on eBay or craigslist weekly and find a Calvalier 55. Rare is an item in my opinion where there are very few in circulation. IMO I agree I've seen tons of cav 55s but not many of the E version. If the 825 figure is accurate then it's my opinion they should be considered rare. Title: Re: Machine rarity Post by: redlegs on November 06, 2015, 01:23:09 pm Yes there are lots of C55, E is the key.
Title: Re: Machine rarity Post by: ajf5577 on November 06, 2015, 01:50:57 pm What does the E designation connotate?
Title: Re: Machine rarity Post by: MoonDawg on November 06, 2015, 02:14:42 pm I'm assuming E is the 2 selection version.
Title: Re: Machine rarity Post by: redlegs on November 06, 2015, 02:56:20 pm yes
Title: Re: Machine rarity Post by: Jcarter168 on November 06, 2015, 03:11:20 pm The C-55E model came in both single and dual select versions. The C-55D model came only in single select. The E is the style designation.
