First post so please forgive any ignorance.
Have a WD-12 and I goofed up the drain trying to remove it. It is an all rubber thing and I need a replacement now. What are folks using for the drain replacement?
My second question is now that I have to replace the drain it looks like I will have to pull the liner box or tear up the outside liner.
Have decided to pull the inside liner to fix the drain. Am concerned about the copper piping for the compressor to the evaporator coil. Looks like I will have to bend it to get the evaporator out of the box. Was thinking I would support the evaporator from the rafters in my garage to avoid harsh bends in the copper.
Any suggestions?

What is wrong with your drain? It looks fine in the picture. You have to remove the circular spring wire that is partially visible
It is pretty common drain used in a lot of Westinghouse coolers and upright machines. Somebody might have an extra - don't think I do.

The tube was broken off about an inch below what you see so I could not get to it.
Figured out the spring no problem, things went downhill from that point.
After trashing it I wish I had just gotten another tube that I could shove down the short piece of tube that was left.
Rubber was original and brittle and did not survive my attempt to gently remove it, does not look like that pic anymore :down:

Usually these are a 3-piece assembly. The part you see in your picture, a short 3" tube that fits the I.D., and an 18" drain hose that has the same I.D. & O.D.
Two hose clamps hold everything together.

Are there any repops for them or are folks just using something else?

I ripped off the old copper tub from the old tub, and had a new tub made!
Spot welded the new one back on.  If the remove the liner save the tub gaskets behind the breaker strips.
they are impossible to find the orginal, or a reproduction gasket that actually fits right.  That is what is holding me up to finish mine.  I have the manual for the machine if you need it.

The tube size is 1/2 Copper

Do you have any tub gaskets, or WD parts?  I started a thread lat week in the refinishing section about the gasket placement on the WD 10.

To remove the evaportator:

 Remove the 2 screws from each side of the air duct cover.
 Pull air duct cover off.
 Loosen 4 bolts that hold the fan housing in in place. 
 Pull back panel cover off.
 Remove 4 bolts from compressor deck plate.


* 2 people are nice to slide the compressor out while lifting up the evaporator until it clears the tub.

  The units weighs about 100 lbs.

OK I listed the wrong model. It is a WD-12
My effort to do something about a rotten drain turned into a major tear down.
Was going to make the drain function and use as is but now that it is all apart I guess I am going for broke on a restore.
The drain has been tough as the hole is 1 1/4" and is not a common drain size. I think I am going to try this.

The compressor has been replaced with a non stock generic one but the evaporator is original I think.
Global Compressors is about 130 miles from me so I might take it to him and see what he says.

Slapshot, I guess you wanted compressor snapshots so here you go. Light in the garage not the best at night.
Took the evap fan off to make removal a little easier.

Have another question about liner rust.
Mine has a little surface rust on the outside in a few small places but is still sound.
What is the best way to deal with that?
It is on the bottom so I thought about just using this stuff...
