Title: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on October 10, 2011, 10:02:15 pm Bought more clocks today, i definitely have an addiction for these things. The Slice is pretty crappy and the Mission could be amazing again but the plastic cover is cracked and the light and motor need attention. The Costa Cola just needs a good cleaning. Anyone have some info on Costa Cola?

Seriously, I really like that Mission clock!! Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on October 11, 2011, 07:35:27 am thanks guys, hoping to find a new plastic cover for the mission if anyone knows anything about these. The Costa Cola looks pink but in person it is red with a white bulb. Keep in mind i took that picture at night with it lit and through a few layers of grime I ye have to remove.
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: pinballdude on October 11, 2011, 12:13:51 pm I got this website from this forum
waynesneonclocks.com but I think their clock covers are glass. You can find motors for sale there as well as some light components. Maybe an email to them can recommend a source for plastic covers? . Terry Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on October 11, 2011, 12:16:43 pm awesome, thanks Terry
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: Ken R on October 11, 2011, 05:29:34 pm Brooks, here's a 1960s Dr. Pepper clock if you're interested...

Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: Ken R on October 11, 2011, 08:43:54 pm Unfortunately, I don't know a whole lot about pricing and what most of these things are or what they might be worth. I figure if I find something that looks like it might be unusual or not badly priced that I can post it on here in hopes of learning more or helping someone find something to add to their collection. Not sure how many members are in my neck of the woods, so maybe I'll find something others don't normally come across. If folks are tired of me posting stuff or asking too many questions, please let me know and I'll back off!

Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: Ken R on October 16, 2011, 05:13:55 pm Oh, haha, took me a sec to realize what you meant about being camoflaged!!! How funny...wood grain on wood grain. I'm guessing you're looking for the ones that are a bit older than this one? I'll keep you in mind if I come across anymore.
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on October 17, 2011, 10:00:45 am cool, thanks Ken, I also turn to thermometers when I cant get my clock fix
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on October 17, 2011, 05:58:27 pm Its not soda related and I am going to put this on oldgas but I had to share my newest clock...I really do have a problem
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: johnieG on October 17, 2011, 06:07:41 pm I'd say...
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: collecture on October 17, 2011, 06:21:11 pm jbrooks,
I like that! Just curious....On restoring clocks - is it frowned upon, is it cost prohibitive.... I would imagine advertising clock collectors do restore some of them? I don't see them listed as restored much, but I don't search for clocks avidly. Is there a price guide for advertising clocks or is Petretti's Soda Pop Guide all there is? Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: johnieG on October 17, 2011, 06:35:29 pm But at least you're in good company..a new addition (addiction?)
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on October 17, 2011, 06:42:44 pm oooh, nice clock johnie. I don't know a ton about how to value them other than what I see here, on oldgas and using Feebay as a guide. I think it is best to get them working and clean them up unless they are really bad. Sort of like all the stuff we like here, keep it as original as possible
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: Ken R on October 20, 2011, 06:20:25 pm Here's a small collection that has a nice looking clock in it that you may be interested in. Unfortunately, looks like you'd have to take the whole lot. Clock may be worth it though. Contact him and see what it is if you're interested!

Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on October 28, 2011, 07:17:12 pm This is more gas related as it came off of a service station in NJ and I posted it on oldgas but for any not a member there I figured you might get a kick out of this one. It needs some work but under the guaranteed used cars sign is the original sign, I have no idea what it is going to be, I feel like a kid at Christmas. Boy did this satisfy my clock fix for a while.
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: cokecolaman on October 28, 2011, 09:37:50 pm Does it light up? Are counseling it?
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on October 29, 2011, 06:33:57 am it is still set up to be hard wired. i have to have someone rewire it with a plug and fix the cover. i hope that clock website you guys referred me to earlier has the part
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: TomFromJersey on October 29, 2011, 05:16:13 pm Nice Cleveland clock Brooks.........Is it a keeper? I've been searching for one with a blue bulls-eye center.
Tom Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: Ken R on October 30, 2011, 02:47:46 pm Brooks,
Here's a clock that looks really nice. I think it's a bit overpriced to me, but maybe it's worth it? I have no idea on what these things go for, just seems high to me. Either way, looks to be a really nice clock! Ken http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/clt/2675758448.html Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on October 31, 2011, 07:37:06 am I would be careful of that Dr. Pepper clock, anyone else think it may be a fantasy piece? I just got a great deal on this Champion Spark Plug clock and on Oldgas they said they think its just an old clock with a decal.
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: Kilroy on October 31, 2011, 07:48:40 am The red 10, 2 and 4 numbers make me think the Dr Pepper clock is legit. I thought it was a decal on the face at first also.
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on October 31, 2011, 08:14:58 am Good point Kilroy, do you think my Champion clock is real or fake, the logo looks so much like the Dr. Pepper clock logo as far as material and placement.
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: Kilroy on November 01, 2011, 06:40:28 pm I'm no expert on clocks, but you should be able to tell if it's a decal or painted on. The champion logo looks to be aged, so if it was added, it was done while the clock was very new.
Title: Re: My Clock Addiction Post by: jbrooks on November 01, 2011, 10:59:10 pm to me it looks like a decal, i have to take the clock apart eventually to repaint the frame and rewire it so i will know better then
